Age Groups: Grades 2 – 12

Typically the age groups are divided as follows for the purpose of assigning facility time:

Grade 2-3 mixed Boy's and Girls,
Grade 4-6 Girls,
Grade 4-6 Boys,
Grade 7-12 Girls and
Grade 7-12 Boy's.

Further divisions may be made pending registration and facility availability.

Program Description:

The indoor season starts in February and runs until early April. Some teams may start earlier to enter leagues or tournaments. We use all three Bloomfield school District gyms with the youngest groups typically using the middle school gym and the older groups utilizing the Elementary and High School Gyms. Some teams may arrange to also use Indoor Soccer facilities outside of Bloomfield which will likely have a corresponding use fee.

Development Objective:

Indoor practice time gives players the ability to improve their ball control skills at a much faster rate then outdoor due to the hard surface. The smaller field size allows all players to be directly involved and exposed to defense and offensive roles and opportunities in a fast pace exciting game atmosphere.

General Program Coaching Guidelines:
We encourage all of our coaches to use 1/3 of their training session for dedicated skills related activities. 1 or 2 specific areas should be targeted. The remainder of the session is typically scrimmage time with the option of putting some restrictions on the play to challenge players and to reinforce positive individual skills or team play.

League and Tournament Options:
Many of the older age groups may participate in various indoor leagues and tournaments in the area. Coaches will work with parents and players to decide what may be the most appropriate choice for the experience level of that particular group and the time commitment needed. See the following links for current options available.
